More Than a Vocabulary List
LangPal goes beyond recording simple definitions. The chart follows a proven language-learning technique that captures a word’s Meaning, Form, and Pronunciation within real context, helping learners develop a deeper and more practical understanding of new vocabulary.
For every new word or phrase, learners are encouraged to record:
✎ Word or Phrase
The new vocabulary item being learned.
✎ Meaning / Definition
A clear explanation of the word, often recorded in English for intermediate and advanced learners.
✎ Form / Part of Speech
Identifying whether the word functions as a noun, verb, adjective, etc.
✎ Pronunciation
Including phonemic transcription to support accurate pronunciation, especially where spelling and sound do not align.
✎ Context / Example Sentence
Recording the word in a natural sentence, ideally sourced from trusted references such as Cambridge, Oxford, or language corpora.
✎ Collocations
Learning common word partnerships to improve natural usage (for example: make a mistake vs do your homework).
✎ Picture / Memory Clue
Adding a visual prompt or personal association to strengthen retention.
How to Use Your Vocabulary Chart
